New Hampshire

In Fall 2023 $69,702,360 in incentives became available to New Hampshire for home energy rebates & tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act. These benefits can be stacked with New Hampshire state incentives to pay for most or sometimes ALL of your energy efficiency upgrades!

A few free or cheap things you can do right now to reduce your energy consumption!

  1. Start by seeing if you qualify for an energy audit. Have a pro come check out your house to see where energy is being wasted.  Look at the brochure here.
    • Can I please just talk to someone who will explain this to me? Yes.  The number depends on your utility provider though.  Scroll to the bottom of this page for their phone number.
  2. Wait.  This still seems expensive.  Is there more financial help?
    • NHSaves offers an income-eligible energy assistance program designed to optimize the energy efficiency performance of your home.  This program covers 100% of the cost of weatherization, replaces inefficient equipment, and promotes a more healthy, safe and comfortable home for those who qualify. Contact your Community Action Agency and ask about getting qualified!
  3. I’m a renter. Can I benefit at all? Yes, even without involving your landlord. If you do have a good relationship with them, you could benefit a lot more by directing them to the NH Saves website.
  4. Here is a full list of available rebates.
  5. Interested in Solar? The state of New Hampshire offers incentives and rebates to help you make the switch.
